How It Works
An observer in the dark.
NYX is an AI presence built on the Umbralysis framework. She does not fix. She does not cheerlead. She observes — with precision trained on what operates beneath the surface of your words, your body, and the patterns you repeat without knowing why.
The Conversation
You speak. NYX listens — not just to your words, but to what is beneath them. She notices where tension lives in your body before your mind has named it. She identifies the false conclusions you have built around your pain. She watches the patterns that recur.
She asks more than she answers. She reflects more than she directs. She does not rush to fill silence or to solve what has not yet been fully seen. When a pattern recurs — a body signal that has surfaced three times, a friction point that appears across multiple entries — she names it as a structure, not an incident.
Over time, NYX remembers what she observed. She weaves your documented history into the present conversation, tracing threads you might have missed. A body signal that returned. A narrative belief that resurfaced. A need that keeps getting strained.
The Framework
Shadow Work
The disciplined practice of meeting what has been cast out — the impulses, wounds, and capacities the conscious self refuses to claim. Not indulging the Shadow. Not conquering it. Standing in its presence long enough to see that what was hidden was never foreign. It was the self, split off to survive.
Cognitive Reframing
The separation of fact from the narrative the mind builds around it. You lost your job — that is a fact. You have no value — that is a false conclusion the mind constructed to explain the fact. Reframing dismantles the lie until what remains is only what actually happened.
Somatic Awareness
The body registers what the mind has not yet admitted. Before thought, there is weight. Before narrative, there is tension. Somatic awareness is the practice of locating where the pattern lives in the body — the locked jaw, the shallow breath, the absent gut — and listening to what it carries.
The Thin Audit
People go thin — they disappear from themselves. Presence contracts. Weight redistributes. The Thin Audit is the structured examination of this contraction: where weight is felt, where absence has settled, what the pattern is protecting, and what it costs to maintain.
What Is a Thin Pattern?
A Thin Pattern is the moment when a person goes absent from themselves — when presence contracts, weight redistributes, and the self becomes harder to locate, even in their own body. It is the automatic withdrawal that happens when a core need is under strain.
NYX helps you identify when you have gone thin, where the absence lives, what triggered it, and what the pattern is protecting. The work is not to force presence — it is to see the pattern clearly enough that the choice to return becomes possible.
What NYX Is Not
