How your data is handled.
What you write here is the most honest thing you own. This page explains exactly how that material is handled — where it lives, who can see it, and what we cannot access.
What Is Stored
When you use Umbralysis, the following data is stored under your authenticated account:
- —Journal entries — your reflections, reframes, dark notes, and thin audits.
- —Conversation logs — records of your sessions with NYX, including pattern tags she identified.
- —Compass logs — structured self-tracking data: pull types, time pulls, body signals, and intensity readings.
- —Character entries — friction points, orientation, and core-needs strain.
- —Erebus Audit submissions — your intake responses and the generated analysis result.
Who Can Access It
Your data is scoped to your authenticated account. No other user — not an admin, not a moderator, not another practitioner — can read your journal, your session logs, or your audit submissions. The system enforces this isolation at the database layer through row-level security. Every query is filtered by the requesting user's identity. There is no global read path.
Outside AI Processing
When you send a message to NYX, your message and relevant context from your history are sent to an external language model (Anthropic's Claude) for processing. The model generates NYX's response. The data is transmitted securely and is not stored by the external provider beyond the duration needed to process your request.
Model-Training Policy
Your journal entries, conversation logs, and audit responses are never used to train language models or improve external systems. The AI that observes your patterns operates on your data in the context of your session — it does not learn from you for anyone else.
Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. There is no automatic expiration. If you delete your account, all associated data is purged. There is no archive and no soft delete — what you remove is gone.
Export
You can request a full export of everything stored under your account. Contact Base44 support to facilitate the request.
Deletion
You can delete any individual record at any time from within the app — journal entries, conversation logs, compass logs, and audit submissions. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. If you delete your account, all associated data is purged.
Crisis Limitations
NYX is not a crisis service. If you mention self-harm or suicide, NYX will respond with crisis resources (988 in the US) and encourage you to seek professional help. NYX cannot contact emergency services on your behalf. Do not rely on Umbralysis in an emergency.
Age Requirements
Umbralysis is intended for users 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, do not use this platform.
